Heteromorphic Communications
My Industry Perspective at Fall 2003 VON will focus on the differences between Homomorphic Telephony and Hetermorphic Communications and my expecation is to get the industry thinking about developing and delivering things which will be known as examples of heteromorphic communications.
We also need to forget about the term "Internet Telephony" and think about this as "IP Communications." ITSPs should be referred to as IP Communication Service Providers. One day we can drop the IP in front of the term.
In the end, it is up to us to develop the platforms and technologies of the future that the next generation will be able to best take advantage of.
