FWD: 101,000 subscribers and growing!

A couple of hours ago we hit the 100,000 subscriber mark on FWD. As of 11am EST we are at 101,009 subscribers and our daily growth has continued with more than 5,000 new subscribers a day during the past 48 hour period.

The FWD Network is current running at the outer limits of it's physical capacity and chances are that our growth during the past 2 days has only been limited by our own hardware.

We will be putting faster hardware into producution the first full week of January.

It wasn't that long ago that when getting 500 new subscribers in a day we thought that was a great thing. 5,000+ new subscribers a day is nothing short of amazing.

Comments

Just a quick comment to congratulate you on the success of FWD, as a geek I would be interested in hearing a little bit about the technology platform that supports FWD and future technology direction etc…

May be this could be a future blog entry.

Jeff, the Free World Dialup service is amazing. I'd compare it to dialpad, but dialpad is in the archives now. I especially enjoy the international calling at the moment. I've always been particularly interested in international communications. I think free communication between the world not only helps the poor (me) but it's a good way to initiate multicultural globalization using technology. Keep up the good work.
