It's not Feeling Like 1999 for Everyone

Just received a note from a friend:

"Just wanted to say hi as I am leaving the telecommunication industry for a new career. I was recently working in the last few months for [xxx] but I have an opportunity to become an actuary in the insurance industry and I accepted the offer.

I decided that never again I will go through a crisis like the one I went through with [xxx] in 2001. I will definitely miss the excitement in your conferences and the edge of VoIP, but I want a solid career with a desired, interesting profession.

Wishing you a success with your leadership of the VoIP community and hope to stay in touch!"

During the past few months I've received similar notes from others who decided that they don't want to relive the excitment of the last voIP cycle all over again.
