VoIP in Tennessee - Taxas and All
Sen. Lamar Alexander will be at the Nashville Public Library to open today's VoIP Conference.
CNET recently reportedthat "...the senator is particularly concerned about telephone calls migrating to the Internet via voice over IP (VOIP) technology."
I guess that's why we are all meeting today in Nashville.
Now I've also heard that Sen.Alexander feels that VoIP Service providers "should pay the same sales taxes and the same kind of business taxes that everyone else pays."
Hopefully this a position and platform open for public debate rather than a done deal...as while Nashville is a great town, given the posturing going into this meeting, I don't want to leave here later today wondering why exactly it was that I came to town.
I'm looking forward to making my own opening remarks at this important VoIP event in Tennessee and then moderating the first session of the day.
