Vonage Customers can now WiSIP!
Starting today, Vonage customers who subscribe to the Vonage Softphone service can now use the pulverInnovations WiSIP phone.
This means, you don't have to carry around your laptop to take advanage of Wi-Fi mobility.

Good for Vonnage making groundbreaking onnovation in Voip. But is the system compatible with WiFi phones like Cisco 7920. I live way out in rural Alaska. Guess I'll still use my Sat phone until tech improves.

russ--it's probably more useful in a local area wireless scenario like a small office--wifi isn't a worthwhile replacement for the mobile cell systems yet.

well this is just what i was hoping would happen. now you can have what amounts to a mobile, but without minutes or roaming.
Q: can you put an antenna on a wiSIP for those weaker 802.11 signals?
the other issue is, for those of us who were waiting to get voip service until there was a real wifi handset, what about the costs here?
not only do you have up front service + activation (70? 80?), but it appears that a vonage "softphone", which i take it is what allows you to roam with your vonage, is another 10 a month, on top of the 30 a month for the vonage service. plus, a pulver wiSIP is about 200.
i mean, i want to do this, but i don't want to be one of the early adopters who finances 10 cent voip wifi handsets for everyman in 2006.
think i'll just keep my bad cell service w/ nationwide roaming for the time being, until more mass production and competition drive all these prices to 0.
