VoIP Industry will Raise over $750 million in 2004
The VoIP sector continues to be hot. VCs who for part of 2001, all of 2002 and part of 2003 did not want to put any real money to play inside the VoIP industry seem to be making up for lost time.

What exactly are these VCs investing in? Where is the money going to be made? There's a temporary opportunity to make a small bit of cash by providing VOIPPSTN connectivity. But PSTN is terminally ill and once everyone is talking over packets, voice is just like any other application on the 'net.

Having come originally from the telecom industry, it is nice to see an injection to the slumped industry via VoIP. This is a new paradigm and the legacy thinkers of the past will have to embrace or step aside.
