pulver.Communicator now does Video!

Last night I spent a little time testing the latest beta build of pulver.Communicator with Jim Toga which now supports H.263 video. I didn’t realize how cool this would be until I tried this myself. The tests I did were from my hotel room in LA to Jim’s home near Boston. I was using a new Sony Vaio which has a built-in “motion eye” video camera.

While there are some issues which our development team still needs to work out, I was impressed and thought it was real cool that in effect we now can empower members of our community with both voice instant messaging and video instant messaging across multiple networks. Over time, pulver.Communicator has been growing into a fully functional example of what IP Communications is all about by carefully blending together various IP communication elements.

There are quite a lot of additional new features (and bug fixes) which will be made available in beta build .94 of pulver.Communicator in early to mid November.

I believe they are a long way off for an OS X version due to FWD focus on Windows platform.
I would hope that they develop it with the powers of the OS in mind since Tiger will incorporate open standards of the H.264 protocol. This is a major leap beyond H.263 which they are using in Communicator.
Cheers

How about adding XMPP IM support to this? This would allow the our site to use FWD and our internal IM system.
