Bezeq letter is a cry after the "train has left the sation". Today, the 5th VOIP over broadband licensce was issued to Barak, to start serviced(Barak is owned by Sprint International, France Telecom, Deutsche Telecom, Clalcom and Matav - Cable System). The other 4 companies that already got licenses to VoB are: 012-Golden Lines, Internet-Gold, Netvision, and Bezeq International (part of Bezeq corporation...).
So, no one can stop the train now...

BEZEQ (it's an acronym) may call the VoIP companies parasites, but it's just a matter of spin. In order to make a cheap call over a parasite, I still have to pay BEZEQ or in my case the CABLE company "HOT" (yes, that is their name) $45 (NIS 160) for the connection and another fee to my ISP (normally 199 NIS - $45).
Israel is not very consumer oriented. For example the call termination fee (basicly the minimum charge for a phone call) was supposed to be lowered from .50 NIS to .1 NIS. The cell phone companies cried foul and got it lowered to .25,
which keeps our rates up there. :-)
