One Step Closer to Producing Video Podcasts: Just ordered the Sony HDR-FX1
After watching Current TV the past few days, I decided to take the next step in being able to produce high quality video podcasts I just ordered the Sony HDR-FX1 HD camera.
I would appreciate hearing back from other owners of the Sony HDR-FX1 for their recommendation of camera accessories and/or software suggestions for the production of video podcasts. Also, at the moment I am trying to decide on whether to go with an Apple G5 or a high-end Windows XP platform for video editing / production. Any and all feedback/suggestions/opinions would be appreciated here as well.

You and your readers may be interested in a new product I developed. It's a XLR adapter, that includes a low-noise preamp (something that passive-type adapters dont have). It allows you to reduce the camcorder hiss while recording fine audio detail:

I'm still trying to pick out a good shotgun microphone for mine, and when I do I'll probably use a BeachTek audio adapter since it lacks XLR inputs

FCP is a great choice. If you decide to go with a Windows platform I'd recommend Vegas Video from Sony. It runs on almost any intel hardware. Go to Sony's site and try the free demo.

Dude, that camera is just made for Final Cut Pro. Or the other way around. In any case, I say go for the G5.

I also picked up some white balance cards from warmcards.com.
It's an awesome camera. I'll be watching for your pod on current.tv!
