This week in my corner of the Blogosphere: A Week of "Net Neutrality"

So far I've spent the better part of the year on the road, visiting: Israel, Las Vegas, Boston, Palo Alto and Honolulu. Last weekend I was in Honolulu for PTC'06 and our annual IP communications Executive Summit. Our summit opened with a discussion of "The Two Tiered Internet" and by coincidence, a few hours later I first noticed Mark Cuban's blog posting, "Hey Baby Bells & Cable, We need multiple tiers of service", which in turn invoked my response. The following day our Executive Summit once again discussed Net Neutrality and it was this discussion that lead to my blog posting advising Eric Schmidt: "Turn the Tide – Turn off BellSouth."

What I didn't expect as a result of one blog posting was for the traffic to my blog to more than double over a 24 hour period. According to my blog logs, this happened on January 18th while I spent the day flying from Honolulu to New York. I am still amazed by the number of people in the blogosphere and elsewhere who reacted (both pro and con) to my unsolicited suggestion to Google.
