The Launch of Tello:
Back in 2003 while experimenting with FWD, and while looking at the evolution of end-to-end IP Communications, the seed was planted for what so far has resulted in the launch of three independent companies: Vivox, Tello and iPeerX. The one thing each of these companies has in common is that they were all ideas that were incubated at pulver.com. Vivox closed their Series A funding in 2005 ($6 Million), as did Tello ($5.5 Million).
Until today, Tello had been a "stealth mode" start-up operating in the Enterprise space with a very active board that includes: myself, Craig McCaw, John Sculley, Michael Price, and Doug Renert as Tello's CEO.
This morning, news about the launch of Tello has been covered by:
Business Week: Say Hello to Tello
Wall Street Journal: New Internet Firm Lets Users Locate Telephone Contacts
Silicon Beat: Sculley, Pulver, McCaw and Price team up on communications start-up
Om Malik: Say Tello for Presence
After being in the shadows of "stealth-mode" since inception, it is great to see Tello come forward and step into the spotlight.
