Tello: A Secret No More

Tello is no longer a secrect.

The past 24 hours has been pretty amazing in terms of creating awareness of Tello, their services and the co-founders of the company.

I have been involved with the launch of a few companies in the past, including Vonage, and this is the most high-profile launch to date.

While Tello's launch day started out with stories in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Silicon Beat and Om Malik's blog, the day ended as one of the buzz stories inside the blogosphere and along the way Tello received additional mainstream coverage with a widely circulated AP story and was picked up some trade publications including: eWeek and Light Reading.

While not everyone in the blogosphere fully "gets" what Tello is all about, many do, and some of the shared skepticism in the blogosphere is appreciated as it helps provide a balance.

Some of the people who blogged about Tello include:

Personally, I believe in the Tello vision, and I am looking forward to watching the promise of presence become a business reality.

Well, Michael's post at TechCrunch seems to set off a comment storm. I wonder what you think about it Jeff? Besides the quip about balance, I wonder what you think of some of the comments?

I also saw a half column in the Business section of NY Times in print yesterday.

Great work Jeff.

Maybe you could explain it to the masses as "instant messaging for someone with a life".

Geoff.
