Introducing...pulverati

pulverati is a web 2.0 project that I have been working on.

The site is reachable by visiting: http://www.pulverati.com

The pulverati project started out when I was looking for a tool that would help me better manage the blogs that were on my radar and in effect see what was happening in the IP Communications side of the evolving Blogosphere. I ended up working with our development team and worked with them to build a rich search facility to better track the information that I cared about.

After a while, I then realized that a collection of blogs and watchlists came together like playlists I put together on iTunes.

And it turns out that like playlists - blog watchlists were:

- centered around a topic
- of interest to multiple people who shared a common interest

At the moment, the pulverati.com website only offers the default view of the growing number of blogs that help me define the IP Communications blogosphere.

The next major feature that will be enabled on pulverati will be the ability for individuals to register themselves with the site and provide the opportunity to upload their own personal blog watchlists and define a meta tag that describes their watchlist. This said, my hope and goal is that we can start to attract a series of subject matter experts want to take advantage of our platform.

I hope that you would consider uploading your own blog watchlist and giving my.pulverati a try when it is ready.

Our developers are still tweaking the system and the my.pulverati feature will be enabled later this week.

As a reader of my blog, I'd appreciate your thoughts about pulverati, the direction that I'm planning on taking it and any suggestions you may have to make it a more useful tool...please feel free to drop me a line.

Oh, and if you have a better name for the service, that would be appreciated as well. :)

Hi
I think that pulverati can become a really useful tool and is not a bad name by the way. Plus it is in sync with your name so keep it. I like being able to place my favorite bloggers on a watch list that will keep me updated. The use of RSS is imperative in todays web 2.0 battlefield. I own a social search site called seekum.com that allows users to vote on the relevancy of the results from their serach querys and tag results with key words. Like seekum, i feel that pulverati will improve with more users. I will keep an eye on it.
