Om Malik on Open Source Telecom:
Om Malik: Here Comes Open Source Telecom
Special thanks to Om to exposing vyatta, a company that is focusing on "open source networking."
I've been a fan of "Open Source Communications" for quite some time. In fact, at Spring 2006 VON on Tuesday, March 14th, we are hosting another edition of our "Open Source Communications Summit." At our summit, delegates will be able to hear from quite a number of people including: Jon "maddog" Hall, Marten Mickos, Mark Spencer and Chris Lyman.
One of the open source projects that I have been watching for a while and one that I'm surprised that Om didn't pick up on was the great work that MythTV.org has been doing. MythTV offers the ability for anyone to build their own TiVo like box...except better. :)
