Nine more weeks in my 2005/06 "Conference Season"

Ever since September 1996 when I first produced the "Talking Net" conference, I noticed that the "conference season" and a good portion of the travel part of my work year has followed a September/June pattern, much like the schedule I used to follow when I was back in school. Looking at my current schedule, between today and June 23rd, I will be giving a keynote at Intelsat's gtm 2006 in Washington DC on May 9th, an "Industry Perspective" at VON Europe Spring in Stockholm on May 16th, a keynote at GLOBALCOMM in Chicago on June 6th and I'm also speaking at VON Israel in Tel Aviv on June 20th.

For my 2006 "Summer Vacation", I am looking forward to visiting Las Vegas and playing in the main event of the 2006 World Series of Poker. To help practice for the 2006 WSOP, tomorrow night I will be in Boston playing in a charity Texas Hold'em Poker event for the benefit of Children's Hospital Boston.

Jeff:

Do you think GLOBALCOMM 2006 spells the end of TelecomNext? This year's TIA show has to be superior to that trade show excuse USTA offered in Vegas this year.

My company was angered by the low amount of buyer traffic on the floor, and we are 95 percent sure that we will pull the show from 2007's schedule. Once we finish in Chicago at GLOBALCOMM this June we're making our final call. All announcements to date indicate we are heading into a great event.
