I once had coffee with that Guy Kewney at VON Europe
Last year, Guy Kewney covered VON Europe 2005 in Stockholm.
But Guy Kewney wasn't in Stockholm last week covering VON Europe for newswireless.net.
Maybe it was because of my European VON Blur, but I had no idea that last week Guy Kewney had become the toast of the world media after having been a victim of mistaken identity.
I have to ask, does 
Guy Kewney look anything like 
Guy Goma?
Seems the BBC's news 24 must have thought so. Guy Kewney was invited to be on the BBC's news 24 to comment on the Beatles vs. Apple lawsuit but it was Guy Goma who was interviewed live on news 24.
The Guy Kewney story broke so big that I learned about it not by reading about it in the news but in my living room seeing the clip air during the May 19, 2006 edition of vh1's "Best Week Ever." While it was running, I said to myself, "Hey, wait a second, I know Guy Kewney and that is no Guy Kewney."
Hey Guy(s), enjoy the media attention and the fame. I'd love to be a guest on the afternoon TV talk show that one of you end up doing.
And Mr. Kewney, how about getting together for another cup of coffee?

Jeff,
This also ran on NPR. Guy has been around forever and was also part of the PC Mag / UK team. When I heard the "other" Guy, on the radio, I was stopped at a light and nearly died laughing. Very funny story.

I saw a CNN International report on this mishap one morning last week while revving up for VON Europe Spring 2006...funny to find out now that it hit so close to home.
