Announcing: "Video on the Net" - September 12-14 in Boston
Video on the Net will be taking place September 12-14 in Boston at the Boston Convention Center.
Back in September, 1996 I helped to define and shape an emerging industry when I co-produced my first event in New York City. This event helped launch the Internet Telephony industry and helped define the emerging IP Communications market place. This event is now known as VON and has spawned VON events around the world. Ten years later, I find myself back at work, focusing on a new emerging space and a new event, one that takes a look at the way the broadband internet is effecting media companies from around the world. This event is called: Video on the Net.
At Fall 2006 Video on the Net, we will be taking a hard look at the effects of the broadband internet on the movie, TV and broadcast industries. My goal is to bring together people who are helping to define the space and those that are being disrupted today as well those who we believe will be the disruptors of tomorrow. One of the emerging topics of the event will be the discussion of “Long Tail TV.” I look forward to welcoming the internet strategists and the executives of media companies to our inaugural event.

Sounds good to me. When I started my blog, I suggested that companies make low res programs with immbeded commercials available for free download. I should have patented it. :-)
