Red Sox Sweep Mets. Red Sox win 4-2.
For the first time this season, the Mets lost three games in a row. For the first time in three games, the Mets were involved in a pitcher's duel, or at least in a game where their starting pitcher didn't have a melt down. But when the Mets took the lead for the first time in this series in the top of the sixth inning with a Beltran home run, their lead only lasted for a half of an inning as the Red Sox came right back and tied the game. When the Red Sox took the lead for good in the seventh inning, it was the truly amazing catch by Coco Crip of a ball hit by David Wright with a runner on first base that took the air out of the Met's hope for a rally.
The Red Sox sweep of the Mets closed out a perfect home stand for the Red Sox and they are now 12-0 in their past 12 games.
Hopefully the Mets will be able to snap out of their current funk and refocus their energy when they take on the Yankees this weekend.
