Jets Mets beat Dolphins Marlins 17-3

If one where to take a quick glance at the 17-3 score of the second game of yesterday's Marlin / Mets double header, it would be easy to mistaken the baseball score for an exhibition football game between the Jets and Dolphins.

While the Mets have now outscored the Marlins 22 runs to 13 runs during the past three games, the Mets are only 1-2 during this stretch. I've always thought it would be cool if the Mets could have a "run bank" so that they could recover run(s) in games where they could not otherwise buy a run.

Today the Mets are going for a split of their four game series with the Marlins with Glavine going for his 12th win of the season.

Let's Go Mets!

So the Mets got the split on David Wright clutch 3-run dinger in the 8th, they go into the All-Star break 12 games up in their division (and 19 games ahead of my beloved-but-pathetic-in-2006 Chicago Cubs), and Glavine will wave to the crowd in Pittsburgh on Tuesday but will do the smart thing and save himself for the stretch run...

...if there was any way to render this comment in envy-green you can be sure I would...
