And I just had to share this account from someone who joined us in Second Life to hear my presentation: "So, I logged in to Second Life and transported myself to the VON (Video on the Net) conference room. In the first picture on the left, you'll see that there are two people in the room -- one of them is me. We are watching Jeff Pulver speak about how broadband internet is effecting television, movies and broadcast industries. While this is a little far reaching from the library world, it's important to know what technology is up and coming, and Jeff is often on the cutting edge.
Towards the end of Jeff's speech, all about technology, he turned to show a large screen to his side, which showed the Second Life conference room! It was at that moment that the guy sitting next to me, turned to me and said, "I think we're in the wrong room." He was right -- what Jeff was showing on the screen was an auditorium full of people, while I was sitting with just one other person. We wandered out and down the stairs until we found the auditorium to hear the end of the speech. As my mother pointed out, my sense of direction is so bad that I can even get lost in cyberspace!

Couldn't agree more! It was really cool. I posted some short video clips of the experience from within Second Life, which you can see here: http://blogs.globalcrossing.com/von-from-pulveria
