network2.tv - “Our (evolving) Guide to Internet Only TV Shows”

During the past month, network2.tv, our directory of “Internet Only TV Shows” has continued to evolve. Using my original blog post ”Jeff’s Guide to Internet Only TV Shows” as the starting point, during the past month my working definition of what qualifies to be listed on network2.tv has also evolved. The more I watched some of the shows on the original list, the more I realized what I was really looking for. (The feedback received also helped.) My overall goal continues to be “to include only the shows which represent (the best?) original content developed to be distributed and viewed on the Internet.” And to get listed on our site, the show MUST have a “working” RSS feed. (There are a number of otherwise great Internet Only TV Shows which are not yet on Network2 because the sites do not offer RSS or their RSS feed is broken.).

Some of the newer features recently added to the site include something we call: ”Best”. “Best” represents the current top 10 sites as clicked on by the visitors to Network2. While this is an imperfect rating system, it is a start and an alternative to relying on Alexa which is another imperfect point of view we currently also offer.

At the moment (as of Oct 1, 2006) the “most popular” shows as voted on by our visitor clicks include:

1. Rocketboom
2.AmandaAcrossAmerica
3.Steve Garfield’s Video Blog
4.CommandN
5. GALACTICAST
6. Vlog of a Faux Journalist
7. The McVlog
8. Alive in Baghdad
9. BetterBadNews
10. Channel Frederator

We have also made it easier for visitors to submit new Internet TV Show suggestions (either as RSS or as a web link) to be added. Guests can also continue to directly email me their suggestions.

As traffic to the network2.tv website is growing daily, I would like to thank the following people for helping to spread word of Network2 in and around the Blogosphere:

- Steve Garfield: The Most Popular internet TV Shows
- Brandon Douglas: TV Guide of Vlog's
- Cyntia Brumfield: Pulver's Ranking of Top Internet-Only TV Shows
- Fred Graver: NETWORK 2.0
- Notebook: Network 2.0

Please drop by network2.tv often to view new channels and catch up with the TV shows that can only been seen on the Internet. And content owners – if you find your show not resolving properly with the right graphical image or if we placed you in the wrong category or if you would like us to use a different RSS feed, please let me know.
