Herding Cats: "Bootleg Videos" from Fall 2006 VON Party

The Herding Cats have been the "house band" of pulver.com since we met the band in a bar in Pioneer Square in Seattle on the night of April 11, 2002.

Together we have traveled the world and their music and style of play have brought smiles to the faces of thousands of my party guests over the years.

It turns out that when Steve Garfield and Chris Brogan came to my Fall 2006 VON party at the Roxy last month, they forgot to check their cameras at the door, which was a great thing since they were able to capture some of the music and atmosphere from the party in the video clips highlighted below.

Verizon is about the only place you can get the authentic RIM product and matching door. Most other sites are out of stock and even when they are in stock they have the black battery door which looks like crap. http://www.batteryfast.com

Steve, you make some great points. And you are quite right. Gone are the days we need to bring single purpose devices with us in order to shoot video "good enough" to share on the Net.

Hey Jeff,

Not gonna happen.

Our cell phones are cameras. There's no stopping it.

At a recent Nokia event in NYC Gnarls Barkley was on stage and security was making people with 3CCD miniDV cameras stop filmimg. But along side of them were peole with Nokia cell phones capturing video at 640 x 480 at 30 fps. And it was obvious that they were shoting video because they were panning from left to right with their cellphones.

Check out this link to Chuck Olsen's video footage Soundtrack Of Our Lives. It's more than just video of the band. It tells his story about being hassled about taking video.

Hey, if the band has given permission to post recordings of their live shows, I'll gladly add mine to the list... I assume they've handled all the licensing issues w/ the Roxy, right? (ASCAP/BMI covers played, etc.)
