Blog-Tag: An Amazing Social Sculpture Charting the Blogosphere

“It's a beautiful reflection of the humanity in the network. It's exciting and breath taking.” – Jiri Kopsa

Every day since December 10th, I have been amazed as this little game of Blog-Tag has been played by hundreds of people around the world in a multitude of languages.

A Thank You goes out to: Andy Abramson, Steve Garfield, Andrew Baron, Justin Kownacki, Jacob Ner David and Dave Gale for giving this a try and helping to propagate this game across the Blogosphere. It was because each and every one of you made the effort to tag five friends that this game happened. Each of you have an interesting blog-tag geneology of your own. Special thanks also goes to Chris Brogan for being the inspiration behind this variation of the game.

During the past few days it has been great to see people start their own game and not wait to be tagged to start playing. If you haven’t been tagged yet and would like to play, just take the lead and see where it goes. You may be surprised as you watch the genealogy of the game as it evolves.

To play, simply share five things about yourself that relatively few people know, and then tag five other bloggers to be "it." Turns out to be more effective if you also email the people who you are tagging so that they know they were tagged.

And thanks to everyone who has played blog-tag to date. Thanks for tagging your friends and for exposing yourself (just a little) to the people who read your blogs and who otherwise would have never had a chance to get to know a certain side of you.
