Thanks for Sharing my "Apple Store Doesn't Sell" Video
It seems that there are others who have been relating to my recent Apple Store experience including: Gadi Shimshon, Pat Phelan, Jon Arnold, Luca Filigheddu and Alec Saunders.
In fact, thanks to the attention, in the past 24 hours this was one of the Most Viewed in the Science & Technology category on YouTube. So, thanks for sharing.
Just to answer the embedded questions - Luca, I was on line to purchase the new iPod shuffle. And Jon - glad you like the new glasses. :)

Jeff,
I think you are missing the point. Apple stores are not there to sell. Seriously! Apple has many channels that do that well. Apple has the Apple stores to interact directly with the retail crowd. Apple wants to give people who would like to see products, touch them, ask questions - a place to go, and Apple is able to get feedback on new products, strategies etc. As far as Apple is concerned you can buy the product somewhere else!
So it is not a coincidence that the store people were more interested in talking to customers as opposed to selling to you. Think about it!

To share a different experience, I was in the Apple store at 5th Ave & 59th St. in NYC on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) and wanted to buy a wireless Mighty Mouse. Rather than have to stand in line, an employee working the floor was able to take my credit card and handle my payment using a Symbol wireless device. I never waited in any line and my receipt was emailed to me! I thought that was incredibly cool. Sounds like exactly what you needed in LA. That said, on another visit I expressed interest in an iPod but was told to stand in line, which I declined to do. So, perhaps they need to train their people better on this.
