Atlanta Asterisk Installation Festival (with a Ham Radio tie-in): April 28th at Georgia Tech
At the VON Enterprise show in Georgia last year, we donated a booth to perhaps one of the most active users groups I have seen, the Atlanta Asterisk Users Group, also known as AAUG. The AAUG is at it again hosting a community "Asterisk Installation Festival" at the Georgia Tech campus on Saturday April 28th. While participants will come away with a working Asterisk telephone system, the group will also have an installation track focusing on amateur radio that includes repeater linking and control!
The radio software is the work of Jim Dixon, WB6NIL and Steve Rogers, WA6ZFT. Local hams, Steve Henke, W9SH and Arnold Solomon, KC4ZUA will be leading the track and are getting the word out to local amateur radio and Asterisk enthusiasts. If you are in Atlanta on Saturday, and have an interest in VoIP and radio be sure to drop in. I wish I could.
