Thanks for Watching the Broadcasts from Sweden Today
Today I had a unique opportunity to give the “Podium Cam” concept a try twice. This morning I broadcast my speech from Innovation and Technology 2007 live on the Internet and while the audio was choppy at times, the concept seemed to work. But it seems that I didn’t give the archive a long enough time to transfer back to the UStream.tv server, so I some of my talk didn’t make it to the archive.
This evening I was all set to give the Podium Cam a second try when I arrived to give my talk at a meeting of the VoIP Group of the Swedish Computer Society in Stockholm. But when I arrived, I saw there were two video cameras setup together with a video mixer to record the session...so at the last minute I logged into Ustream.tv on the machine which was had the video mixing software running on it and I connected the output of the video mixer to Ustream.tv. This in turn meant my second broadcast of the day would have a professional look and feel. But…for reasons which none of us could figure out at the time, the video images that came across on UStream.tv were more cropped then we expected to see them. And then about 30 minutes into my talk, we lost power in the room. This in turn took down both the underlying internet connectivity and the use of the cameras and the mixing software. So, while I tried to continue with my speech without missing a beat, it was the end of my broadcasting day and I lost any chance I had to share an archive of my talk at the Swedish Computer Society.
All-in it was another fun day in the world of live Internet TV broadcasting. Thanks for being a part of it.

Jeff,
Sorry to hear about the issues you faced. What we all need is portable nuclear reactors!
As always, if you run into any problems with Ustream, feel free to contact the team there for help.
