Israeli Start-up Contest 2007: Entries due Today
Red Herring magazine, in conjunction with the Israel Venture Association (IVA), will be hosting the Israeli Start-up Contest 2007. For the second year in succession the internationally renowned American technology magazine will conduct a competition focused on Israeli start-ups. The competition is a wonderful opportunity for Israeli companies to gain international exposure.
I am a member of the IVA and I am one of the judges in this year's competition.

Focus
This year the competition will focus on identifying companies with the potential to become leaders in large technology markets. The judges will attempt to identify those companies with the potential to become the next M-Systems, Checkpoint, Teva or Skype.
Eligibility
The competition will be split into three tracks: communications, software and life sciences. To qualify for participation companies must:
- be private companies venture-funded by an investor that is a member of the IVA
- have 2006 revenues of less than $20 million
- have a physical presence in Israel
Awards and Benefits
Israeli Start-Up Contest 2007 winners will be featured in Red Herring magazine. Red Herring will also supply the companies with logos to use in their press releases, websites, and any other marketing collateral.
- The winners will also be profiled in the local Israeli press.
- The winners will have an opportunity to deliver a presentation about their company at the IVA Conference, which will take place in Tel Aviv on June 11. Awards will be presented in a prestigious ceremony in front of more than 1,000 international investors, analysts, and industry leaders.
