Today’s Question of the Day: What is your Advise to the Class of 2007?

During the course of a day, there are times when find myself thinking “If I only knew then what I knew now” and sometime thereafter I can hear my father repeating “It is a shame that youth is wasted on the young.”

It took me a long time to believe in myself and my convictions and learn about the “Power of One” and that for some people “Nothing is Impossible.”

Which leads me to Today’s Question of the Day: If you had an opportunity to speak at a graduation ceremony and had an opportunity to give Advise to the students graduating in the Class of 2007 what message would you like to share?

Everything that you interesting in? try to learn more about it, explore and read what other people write and feel, but always try to learn more, i really believe that knowledge is power. (and then - u can argue and quarrel about it :-P )

Pay attention to your knees. You'll need 'em later. You will ignore this advice, because everybody does.

Look for the balance in serving yourself and serving g-d or whatever you believe in. Learn how to hear the voice within, the deepest part of you, that guides you toward your true mission on earth. Don't confuse your mission with what makes others happy.

If you're not out there breaking something, pushing something, upsetting someone, confusing someone, energizing someone, and (not or, but AND- do all these things) challenging someone, you need to reboot now.

Learn the rules, break the rules. Repeat. Learn the rules, break the rules. Learn how to engage others. Pick up the essential skills you can't learn from school directly:

* Networking
* Presentation
* Motivation
* Storytelling
* Cognitive Resonance

That's what I've got for the Class of 2007. Yesterday, I met a 17 year old entrepreneur who'd started her first business at age 7. That's right. 7.

Holy cow.

Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars.

i would tell them to make as many mistakes as possible to to quote robert wilson the theater director - if you think you are going in the wrong direction then go there" - if you think you are going in the right direction change directions because you know where you are going to wind up or so you think in any case i would tell them and myself to try and catch your dreams and life is short and quote to jeff pulver that the power of one is more then the power of none as my friend jeff once said while driving on the long island expressway aka LIE - i would tell them to think about the unthinkable and follow their passions and to stop being a spectator in their lives and to make some really good mistakes and don't let money rule you - and that creativity is having an open mind and to be vulnerable and open for its the vulnerable who are strong not those who appear to be strong, invulnerable - i would tell them to listen to their intuition and split themselves down the middle sometimes and be a parent to the child in them and the child to the parent in them and to forget everything i said :-) oops have to run and catch train to great neck - see ya jeff - geo

Ingenuity. Innovation. Creativity.
These are the true commodities that can never be outsourced. Whatever field you choose to pursue, if you can demonstrate excellence in these traits, then your position will never be outsourced and you will always be in demand.

That... and don't be an ass.
Now, go create something!

Don't conform. Be unconventional in everything you do. Drink more coffee.
