My Day at Live Earth, USA – 7/7/07
After watching Kevin Wall’s production of Live8 back on July 2, 2005, and wishing I was in the crowds in Philadelphia, when I heard that he was producing another live worldwide musical event, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase tickets for Live Earth when they became available back in April. In fact it was my experiences as a consumer watching Live8 on AOL Music that convinced me that Internet TV was ready to disrupt the world of TV, Film and Broadcasting.
Before leaving for Giants Stadium to attend Live Earth, USA, I spent some time watching the Live Earth performances in London that were being broadcast live on MSN over at LiveEarth.msn.com. Two years later, the video and audio quality had improved and I’m just wondering how many millions of people watched some portion of Live Earth on the Internet yesterday. If there was ever any doubt about how disruptive Internet TV could be, 7/7/07 is the date that will be remembered as the date that such doubt was gone.
While I was at Live Earth, I used twitter to “mircro-blog” the event while others around me were using their cell phones to take pictures from the concert and share them with their friends.
Only because the tickets stated “NO CAM/REC” did I decide to leave my Nikon D70 at home. Instead I went with one of my small Sony cameras, the DSC-T100 and my new everything device, the iPhone whose camera is in dire need of an optical zoom. Below are some of the pictures that I captured. One strange coincides of numbers, without even trying, somehow, my photo Set on Flickr ended up with 77 photos.

Can you tell me who sang the song "What A Wonderful World" near the end of the concert? I just tuned in towards the end on TV and it didn't say who was singing - thanks!
