For this test I decided to search for a medium sized intelligent and friendly dog (any breed) with a long average lifespan. For this I used “2009 AKC Dog Breeds” collection in Pivot. For this highly scientific test the search terms were: “Medium sized friendly intelligent dog with long lifespan”. Each search took 10-15 seconds including entry.

I have to say that oftentimes when a person spends a LOT of money for something they tend to overlook its faults and emphasize its benefits to mentally justify their handing over so much cash for it. As such...well, Jeff, your question is a good one, but I wonder if the responses will ring true.

Still a refuzenik (though the temptation doesn't yet exist for me here in Paris, I must admit)...

I love mine. Sure there are things that bother me about it. Nothing a small update wouldn't fix. Even with the minor issues I wouldn't dream of going back to my old Treo.

Jeff,

I love it. However, itunes 7.3 causes Outlook to crash and I don't like that at all. It's been a great phone and even EDGE is tolerable. I've learned a lot about iTunes (besides its destructive nature towards Outlook) and it's pretty good.

I'm very happy with my iPhone (previously a blackberry Pearl owner on T-Mobile). The greatest feature is, of course, a real web browser. Sure there are some shortcomings in the browser, but it is unlike any browser in any phone. Despite edge speed, the browser is super functional compared to any other phone I've seen. The problem with other phones' browsers is that in most cases you had to have seen the page in a real browser to have any idea what you were looking at on the phone.

Lack of TODO syncing is probably the thing that bugs me the most. Being nit-picky, I'd like to see LEAP authentication support, since that's what is used at my office.

As far as recommending the iPhone, it depends on the friend. iPhone may not be for the Blackberry addicted, or the must-have-every-feature folks. It isn't that phone yet. I bought my brother one, however, and he adores it (had a razr before). He's an exterminator in NYC (and high school teacher during the school year). He loves the traffic in google maps since he's on the road in and around NYC most of the summer.
