Talking Baseball: The Mets Need a WIN Today!

Give the Phillies some credit. While the Mets were able to recover from being swept by the Phillies at the end of August, and took their aggression out on the Atlanta Braves, the Phillies still kept on their mission to be a contender in the NL East. And now with their two back-to-back wins over the Mets, the Phillies are entering today’s game only 4 ˝ games back. If the Mets want to win the NL East, they need a win today. The Mets starting pitching has been good enough to win the first two games against the Phillies, but like clockwork, “something happened” and next thing you know the Mets suffered another tough loss at the hands of the Phillies. Seems at times the Mets are their own worst enemy.

So Mr. Met – Go out and WAKE UP the Mets and explain to them their season is on the line. A win today and they go 5 ˝ games back up over the Phillies and they more or less can coast into clinching the NL East. Lose today and they will only be 3 ˝ games in front and will be spending the next couple of weeks watching the scoreboard, everyday hoping and praying for the Phillies to lose.

Here’s to hoping the Mets can pull themselves together and beat the Phillies today.

Let’s Go Mets!

I knew the Mes must've had a fan somewhere someplace.

Even in Yankee town.
