The VoIP World According to Google: VoIP Buzz up 18.5% during 2007

Back in 2004 I started to track the buzz around VoIP based on the number of hits a search on the term “VoIP” had on Google. I have repeated this on January 1st each year since.

My results to date:

Jan 04 - 2.3 million
Jan 05 - 17.7 million
Jan 06 - 172 million
Jan 07 - 151 million
Jan 08 - 179 million

I am excited to see VoIP’s Google popularity rise 18.5% compared to where it was a year ago.

I'm looking forward to a stronger year ahead for the world of VoIP and IP Communications. 2008 will be the year VoIP is disruptive (again).

Interesting progression of VOIP searches on Google and yes, probably very telling. To calculate the real growth, I think you would need to normalize for Google's overall growth in searches year-to-year. Another way to measure growth would be to calculate number of VOIP subs.

Every business, no matter how small, should take advantage of the VOIP programs available for the business and their customers.
AdCalls recently unveiled a world-wide project for small businesses (http://www.adcalls.com/overview.html) which will permit small and medium businesses to give customers FREE World-Wide long distance, providing the ultimate, affordable CRM solution.
Participating businesses will not only promote name branding with rotating ads on their personalized VOIP Soft computer phone, but also will build a permission data base of email and cell phone numbers.
A complete Mobile marketing program is also included in this unique program. Customers can make FREE calls from any country in the world to any home phone, cell phone or business phone, in any country in the world. (http://www.adcalls.com)
