The Bucket List 2008 Meme:
In the movie "The Bucket List", Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman decide to make the most out of what time they think they have left. In the movie they compile a list of things they still wish to accomplish, giving them some much-needed motivation and a desire to still stay young at heart.
In the spirit of the movie, and in the spirit of trying to make 2008 be the year that we all start to do some of the things we would like to accomplish one day, I thought it would be fun to reach out to friends across the blogosphere and ask them to share some of the things on their "Bucket List" they hope to remove during 2008. For some of us, these are not necessarily our "New Year's Resolutions", but rather things we have been meaning to do for some time that we WILL get done in 2008
For me, in no particular order, some of the things on my list for 2008 are:
- Drive across the United States and experience "Americana." Count the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike while doing so.
- Launch a new look for pulver.com - (It's been 10 years since the last new look)
- Start writing the book entitled: "Fear, Greed and Disruption.” And if not, then, start writing the book I was meant to write.
- Play in the 2008 World Series of Poker
- Get my new ideas for 2008 funded.
- Spent time in my social media living room exploring the future of communication.
- Host a social media breakfast in London. And another "Real-time Social Networking" event in Tel Aviv.
- Spend time meeting with early-early stage startups in Tel Aviv and in the metro NYC area.
- Spend more time at the Brasserie sipping Hafooch
(special thanks to Geo Geller for sending an email that was the inspiration for this blog post).
I am now reaching out to: Chris Brogan, Liz Strauss, Jeff Jarvis, Fred Wilson, Andy Abramson, Steve Garfield and asking them to share their “Bucket List for 2008.”

Anyone know why Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson wanted Black Walnut Ice Cream?
I love Black Walnut Ice Cream, but never thought about it in China.

I would have a Solicitor present to change my Last Will & Testament to provide for charities as being the whole benfactors. It would entail adding the "Attestation Clause" whereby it precludes immediate family from contesting the will. It would guarrantee and invest my last wishes explicitly.

I’d like to know my dad a little better.
I’d like to do a huge mural, not quite a Sistine Chapel job but a big room I can fill with my painted figures and my narrative with homages to all the artists that made my life so rich.
I want to see that episode of the Sha Na Na show where the Ramones guested.

hmmm thanks for the special thanks for the heads up jeff - so my list is to live life and discover those moments beyond the usual that tickle the imagination and keep me in awe at the wonder and gift of life we all are "in" and surrounded by and then some
my dream is to simplyfy, be not too organized or disorganized that i can't appreciate the moment and discover the undiscoverable -
things i would like to do -
i would like to ever so slightly, to be like the butterfly who in flapping its wings could change the direction of humanity towards a more peaceful and harmonious state of being and stop playing follow the zombie leaders -
i would love to hang out with my kids and their kids more - play in the playground of imagination of life with some fearless and feisty inventive people who aren't afraid to dream and to catch their dream -
i would love to find a home home on the range for my too many dreams, paintings, sculptures, poems, photographs, plays, childrens stories, films, documentaries, sound/photo portraits, to name a few -
i would like to live my dreams and to continue living my art - for my life to be my art and my art to be my life -
i would like to find some love that isn't afraid to fly beyond why -
oh i would like to be me and be the vacuum cleaner for life that i am when i am who i am -
and lastly i would like to die with a smile on my face and peace in my heart
well i don't know if that answers your bucket question - i am sure i left out the most important things - where did i put those keys :-)
be you

Driving across the country is definitely on my bucket list. It's probably a few years before this happens, though. I'd also like to explore Canada.

Jeff, We've been driving around the country with the kids every summer. My wife is currently reading "1,000 Place to see in the USA and Canada Before you Die". If you are looking for suggestions for "Americana" in a specific region let me know.
