Attending disrupTV...
Today I am attending and participating at an “un-conference” taking place near Tel Aviv, Israel. An amazing collection of technology and media people gathered here, to discuss the future of media and technology. Quite a number of the people involved in the Israeli Hi-Tech Internet Video space are attending this event. Also attending are people from traditional TV and Media production companies. A true meeting of the world of where things were and where they seem to be going.
I just attended the session “Story Telling & Technology” hosted by my friend Kfir Pravda from www.pravdam.com, where Kfir shared with us a scene from the Godfather, analyzed the scene, and we explored techniques and technologies that “we” might have used had the same scene been filmed in 2008.
I especially enjoyed the discussion that followed his session and Kfir promised to post a blog about his session so that others from the media blogosphere can join in the discussion. Other sessions at disrupTV include: From Porn to AI in 20 slides, Heroes 360 / Cross Platform Integration, The Future of TV, Mobile TV or Not TV and Social Software in Ancient Times: Upgrade or Die?
It’s fun to be in Israel, and participate in sessions where the people responsible for technology innovations are experiencing the same experience as I am.
