Breakfast with Peanut Butter and Friends in Vancouver
Yes, I really do travel for breakfast. And I’m glad I made the trip to Vancouver to host breakfast the morning of June 12th at the Subeez Cafe. @ColleenCoplick thank you for suggesting Vancouver as a location for one of my breakfasts.
I especially enjoyed the energy of the event and the conversations I had. There is something special about Vancouver and the people involved in their local social media scene. This breakfast in Vancouver renewed my own appreciation for the magic that these breakfasts sometimes make happen.
While I have known Ian Bell for about ten years and I was traveling with both Ken Camp and Sheryl Breuker, it was the first time I met everyone else. And while I didn’t have long conversations with everyone, I did try to say hi to just about everyone who was there. One person who also traveled a great distance to join the breakfast was Todd Jordan. Todd, it was nice to meet you. (I hope your wife had an ok time too.)
For the first time in a few breakfasts, I remembered to bring with me the optional self-identifying social media tags. The same tags that I made in San Jose with the help of Kfir Pravda and Anatoli Levine in Fedex/Kinkos the day before the San Jose breakfast. The same tags created by my friend Dror Gill and first introduced at my Tel Aviv breakfasts. What I forgot to bring was the “@ Headgear” that Jeff Hibbard created.
Of all the breakfasts I have hosted to date, Vancouver stands alone at least in one aspect. Vancouver was the first breakfast to include Peanut Butter as a condiment for toast. When I asked everyone if anyone else had heard of having Peanut Butter at breakfast, everyone said yes. Who knew? For me it was a new breakfast experience.
Leah (“Sleeping with MySpace”), Jess Sloss, Boris Mann, Colleen Colpick, Ian Hood, Rebecca Bollwitt, Monica Hamburg, Jenn Lowther, Nadia Nascimento, Tara, Roland Tanglao, Dick Hardt, Arnold Leung and Todd Jordan, it was nice to meet each of you. I look forward to returning to Vancouver to host another breakfast in the near future.

Was great to meet you in person and to spend some time chatting. I'm enjoying your other posts here recently as I'm in transition myself.
I was serious about a European road trip. I'll send you an email with my extended thoughts.
Thanks as well for the Vancouver praising ... we need more good reviews of this area and the great people here.

Peanut butter as a condiment for breakfast was a new one for me too Jeff.
Thanks again for the get together, I've heard nothing but positives about the event. Vancouver is looking forward to the next Jeff Pulver Breakfast!
