Second Chances from First Impressions
While first impressions might be the only impression most people leave on you, you owe it to yourself to give somebody a second chance to make their first impression with you.
Believe it or not, there are others who have given you a second chance and you don't even know it. You owe it to them, yourself and the people you haven't met yet to extend the same courtesy.
Second chances may not exist for many things, but before you give up on somebody for whatever reason, don't always do it based on your first impression of them.

True enough. So many times someone really pisses you off or just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Who knows, they could have been having the worst day of their lives the time you met. Second chances, I like 'em.

It sure is hard to overcome first impressions but being able to give 2nd chances are definitely worth the try. You never know that person might help you around in another time/situation.

It's definitely worth it. It certainly paid off for me.

This is so true Jeff. After reading your post I took a moment to reflect on some wonderful people that I gave a chance for a second first impression. It's definitely worth it. It certainly paid off for me.

Jeff, thanks for that great reminder. It reminds me how important the related virtue of compassion is. Think of all the truly greatest people in history... and they are known for their compassion with other people.

Interesting. Probably the hardest thing to do. I think it's easier if the impression wasn't an overtly bad one. If it was rather bland, I'm far more likely to give someone a second chance. Truly bad first impressions are hard to overcome.

There seem to be many second chances on the web, each time to start a new network people look at you from a fresh perspective.
