A Time to EXTEND Yourself

There comes a time when you need to extend yourself outside of your comfort zone and push out beyond your personal boundaries.

This is something only YOU can do for YOU. You can not buy this and you can not outsource this. This is something only YOU can do.

Once you commit to yourself to extend yourself, pick your moment(s) and just do it.

How you start to extend yourself is up to you. Every situation is different.

Extending yourself comes in different forms. Sometimes you end up doing something you never did before. Other times you do something a different way. Sometimes you take that chance you never would have otherwise taken. You might start by starting a conversation with someone at a networking event you never otherwise would have said hello to. Maybe it just talking with someone you always see but never speak to. You will know the opportunity when you experience it.

We need to push ourselves to try new things. As long as what you do does not put you or anyone in harms way, go for it.

People who extend themselves take a fundamentally different approach to work and life than others. They understand a concept of personal liberation which comes with the freedom to choose what they want to do, when they want to do it. And in many ways, they are free.

Become Free. Extend yourself. And when you can, take the time to inspire someone else to learn from your own discoveries and empower them to extend themselves too.

I always believe every person has it within themselves to step out of their comfort zone, take risks, and succeed; and I believe everyone, at some point, feels the call to do this.

Judging by my own actions, it must be that we often ignore that call, or push it away, for one reason or another. Fear, discouragement, insecurity, negative influences from outside...even plain ol' laziness. ;-) That's why I'm *so* grateful for this post! Even though I think I'm pushing my personal boundaries, maybe what I'm doing sometimes is just expanding my comfort zone. :-)

Thanks for the push!

Hey Jeff - I have always wondered what [cognitively] separates those of us who are willing to step outside our comfort zone from those who don't ever take a risk?

Do you think risk takers, entrepreneurs, etc are born with different genetics? Or, are we conditioned to take risks?

Kind regards, and thanks for the thought provoking post.
