Give a Voice to twitter. Give Phweet a try.

Friends who use twitter on a regular basis now have an opportunity to speak with their friends on twitter. All that is needed is broadband connectivity and a visit to http://phweet.com.

Yesterday I used Phweet for the first time using my Macbook and I’m now a fan. It is great to see a new application promoting the End-to-end principle.

The next time you see me on twitter, feel free to give phweet a try and let’s talk.

@Adam

From the end user point of view it is not. In my understanding E2E priniciple (also as suggested by the Wikipedia article as well), the bits are transported end to end without modifcation. But in this case Phweet provides a conf bridge, even when only two parties are involved in the call. If this bridge is over subscribed then I suspect the call will not be established. Of course, if even one leg needs to use TringMe applet, then their server is involved in the call as well. By the way, let me bring to your attention that Phweet is not necessarily based on Tring Me - they provide that client as an option for those end users who do not have a previously installed SIP client. My claim about it not being conforming to E2E principle applies to these cases as well.

Let me turn around and ask you which architecture will not be E2E from an end user point of view?

Aswath, while I agree that Phweet is based on TringMe, to an end user it is still an E2E solution - agree?

Jeff, I am missing your point about E2E principle. Every Phweet session includes their server and it may include TringMe server if one of the participant uses TringMe widget. So I feel it is far removed from E2E principle.
