Call for Speakers: The Social Media Jungle 2009 Road Show

The Social Media Jungle events brings to light how the advent of social media is changing the way we work and live. Sessions may include state-of-the-industry updates and a candid look at how social media disrupts the workplace by empowering companies to lower burn rates. Plus, learn how companies can motivate consumers through leverage social media to drive product sales without increasing costs.

- -

After launching The Social Media Jungle back in November in New York, I decided to take the content of the event on the road in 2009. The first stop for the 2009 Social Media Jungle Tour is taking place today (January 7th) in Las Vegas at CES.

I'm looking for a people who would like to be considered discussion leaders at one or more of the The Social Media Jungle: Leveraging Social Media for YOU (and your business) events.

2009 Social Media Jungle Tour
(as of Jan 7, 2009)

January 7th - Las Vegas @CES2009
March 10th - Boston
March 19th - New York City
April 21st - Los Angeles
April 23rd - San Francisco
April 24th - Seattle
April 27th - Washington, D.C.
April 29th - Chicago
May 1st - Minneapolis

(More dates will be added in the days and weeks ahead. I am also open for suggestions for other cities to add to the tour.)

I am in the process of reaching out to a number of people to share industry updates while I am looking for others to help lead discussions around related topic areas which they are most passionate abut. I plan to follow the same process which helped bring together the great topics and discussion leaders who are gathering today at the second Social Media Jungle event at CES 2009 in Las Vegas.

If there is a topic area that you find yourself passionate about, please contact me. As far as the specific topics to be discussed, I'm open to ideas and suggestions. If you would like to be a discussion leader, or if you know someone who you feel could contribute to this , please email: jeffp@pulver.com ASAP. I'm looking to confirm the discussion leaders over the next few weeks. The related event websites will be launching during the same time frame.

And if you would like to be one of our event sponsors, just let me know.

Weekends to people mean that they can ig2thave a two-day good wowgold4europerest. For example, people can go gameusdout to enjoy themselves or getmeinwowgold together with relatives and friends to talk with each storeingameother or watch interesting video tapes with the whole speebiefamily.
Everyone spends weekends agamegoldin his own way. Within two days, some people can relax themselves bymmofly listening to music, ogeworld reading novels, or watching mmorpgvipfilms. Others perhaps are more active by playing basketball, wimming or gamesavordancing. Different people have different relaxations.
I often spend weekends oggsalewith my family or my gamersellfriends. Sometimes my parents take me on a visit to their old friends. Sometimes I go to the library to study or borrow some books to gain muchmmovirtex knowledge. I also go to see various exhibition to broaden my vision. An excursion to seashore or rpg tradermountain resorts is my favorite way of spending weekends. Weekends are always enjoyable for me.

This would have been an ideal platform to share my vision on self managed websites for niche social bookmarking, where people develop the site, code and content and self manage other users etc.

Hi Jeff. As I mentioned at yesterday's breakfast, I'd very much like the opportunity to speak about the psychology of social media at Social Media Jungle in NYC in March.

Posted by: Tom Guarriello at January 22, 2009 09:18 AM

Hi Jeff,

Great idea. We have advised organizations on the use of social software in a business context since 2003. That's why we have a number of very interesting case studies, that I could speak about.

Not sure if you are looking for examples in both the enterprise and consumer world. I will be attending the NYC breakfast, so we can discuss that.

Cheers,
Christoph

I am interested in being part of the social media world as a speaker or moderator. I have over 15 years teaching at universities and over 1400 seminars and keynotes. My Stop the Barking is fun, lively, and emminently practical way to look at communications. Please let me know how I can help.

If I was going to speak at The Jungle, it would be on Social Media Measurement which I've done a lot of, and spoken about, written about.

I'll be at the Social Media Breakfast on the 21st, so maybe I can find out more, then.

Hi Jeff - Sounds like a terrific initiative and one that Moco would love to get involved in as a firm squarely at the intersection of two trends: social media and mobile. Look forward to it.

Jeff:
I have 25 years experience in facilitation and professional speaking. I would represent the newcomer to social media. Folks who want to try it and have a lot of curiosity and passion.
My background is both Fortune 500 and not-for profit. I speak a lot on workplace issues including Gen-mixed environments.
I would love to delve into social networking's uses with job hunting / recruiting / testing organizations' cultures before committing to a job.

As a leadership and millennial speaker, certified coach, and trainer, I'd be incredible interested in facilitating a discussion at the NYC Social Media Jungle on what millennials/gen-y seeks from companies/recruiters and how to reach them. I also come from a nonprofit background and do a lot of nonprofit executive coaching; therefore, I'd also have interest in leading a discussion on how nonprofits/social enterprises can increase their fundraising and impact by leveraging social media.

Hi Jeff - I'm in the UK but would love to come to the NYC gig and speak about Metrotwin.com, a community site we created for British Airways. It treats NYC and London as a single place (which makes sense when you realise that these are the two nodes on either end of their most important route). The 'twinning' part exploits the similarities and differences between these two metropolitan centres. Everywhere in London is twinned with somewhere else in New York, and vice versa. The content comes from a network of bloggers and local experts in both cities who have special publishing privileges - and in this way we keep the content current and high-quality.
We also track user behaviour, and from this create an index of what's best in the eyes of the community. It's quite a cool site and has been well received. I'm pretty sure that I could persuade British Airways Digital Marketing Director Chris Davies (our client - totally gets it btw) to speak if that's of interest to you. The travel industry is one area where a lot of these new social social technologies are really being used in a more mature way - and there's a long way to go. Let me know if this of interest.

Jeff,

I would love to help out and be a discussion leader for SMJ.

I would also love to do something on "prediction markets" which I think is probably one of the most powerful (and under recognized) social app categories of corporate SM initiatives.

Hi Jeff:

I'm interested in learning more about the opportunity to speak or moderate as well as how the roadshow will work.

I'm interested in the sustainability of social media in general and its carbon footprint in particular.
