Looking for Friends in Israel who want to make a difference this Purim

The Bialik Rogozin School in Tel Aviv, an educational campus that serves 750+ at-risk children in grades K-12 needs two things:

Things for their bazaar: The school holds a bazaar which sells things for few shekels. They will be happy to get used things, in GOOD SHAPE AND CLEAN like:cloths of all shapes and sizes, shoes, bags, belts and other accessories, home things which can be carried by hand (not furniture ), toys, books, home furnishing, etc kitchen utensils,

If you have something to contribute, please deliver them to the security person at the door of the school until Friday (March 6th), 2 Moledet Street (the back side of 49 Haaliya street )

Friends to come to the Bialik Rogozin School Purim Carnival on Sunday Morning (March 8th from 0800-1200) who want to come to the carnival and perform or entertain the kids. They are looking for people who can bring video games, clowns, jugglers, street performers, people who want to bring balloons, robots, remote controls, dressed as disney figures, any thing entertaining kids to of ages 5 to 18.

I am asking my friends in who will be in the Tel Aviv area on Sunday to drop by the Bialik Rogozin School and help bring a smile to the these kids. (You can also join this event on Facebook.)

I would appreciate it if you could share this blog post with your friends and encourage them to help make a difference in the lives of these at-risk kids. I am asking for your help to show that it is possible to use social media for the social good in Israel.

Background: The Bialik Rogozin School in Tel Aviv is an educational campus that serves 750+ at-risk children in grades K-12. The school is run by principal Karen Tal and her devoted staff, and with children and teenagers from twenty-eight countries. They are new immigrants, children of foreign workers, refugees from Darfur and Israeli Arabs. Many are from single-parent families. Bialik Rogozin is a caring and nurturing center that provides hot meals, music and art instruction, specialized tutoring and a solid education in a safe and welcoming environment.

I visited the school in October 2007 and I was moved by the work of principal Karen Tal and her staff. Hearing the story of some of the kids who arrived in Israel from Darfur brought tears to my eyes. Having seen the school and met the kids I have wanted to do something to help out. This is my first opportunity to reach out to my friends in Israel to help out and I hope that some of my friends are able to visit the school and get to meet these kids.

The time you spend at the school will be felt and will help transform the lives of these kids.
